In the early hours of Sunday morning, our dear friend and brother Chiran Simkhada (374B) passed away in his sleep in Geneva, Switzerland. It is believed that he suffered a ruptured artery and all indications are that death came as quickly as it was sudden. We share the grief of his family and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this terrible time. He was 29 years old.

I met Chiran at the LSE over 8 years ago and since then he's never stopped (and never will) being one of the people I love most.
Chiran was my friend, my teacher, my brother, my soul mate... Despite our differences, the fighting and the hidden feelings our friendship grew stronger and stronger. Now I can't even start thinking of my life without him.
Chiran, I'm proud and honoured to have been your friend. I'll miss you every day. Lore |

His philosophy about life was porfound. It was always a pleasure to talk to him about anything from footie to development. He is the person who showed me London and taught me ways to survive in the city and LSE. Eventhough he insisted on me calling him Chire, I had/have too much respect for him to drop the 'dai'.
You will be missed Chire dai. |

Please contact me on the above email if you wish to attend. The evening will consist of speeches, anecdotes and remembrances of our dear friend. Everyone who has known him in the past is welcome. Look forward to hearing from you. Ramesh. |

the last of the mohicans hitesh karki 11/27/2003 8:59:14 PM EST | Chiran, it indeed was rollercoaster of a ride - the last time u were here in kathamndu. from platinum to quite ambience of various restaurents of thamel....it was recalling of the days we missed ever since we left school. by the time u left for Geneva, we had discussed everything under the sun...no more it felt like we had parted for so many years.
the little buddha staues are still with me and so is the "throwaway" camera(i don't understand why i never threw that away?) containing most probably one of your last pictures.
dunno what to say. the plans/dreams u shared ..
"U HAD SOME DREAMS, BUT IN ORDER TO DREAM YOU GOT TO BE ASLEEP.....!" (dylan, how ironic!).
Sleep in peace, Chire.

Re: condolence Pradin 366B 12/3/2003 3:56:47 PM EST | My deepest condolence to the family. It is such a shock to hear about so tragic a loss.
Only 2-3 months back I had chatted with him after losing contact since we graduated from school. We were hoping someday we could get together, hangout, catch up on the good old times. Its such a shock to know that he won't be around anymore.
My deepest heartfelt condelence to family. Chiran, may your soul rest in peace bro. |

Re: Condolences to the family of Chiranjibi Simkhada (374B) Dilip Parajuli 12/5/2003 11:58:06 AM EST | It’s been a while I came to Sebsonline last. I came here to post a message for Doko Dai project and saw this. What a shock I got.
Chire, wherever you went, may you rest in peace. You were the jolliest of friends that I saw in my school life- from class 7-10 in Kanchenjunga house and post-SLC years in Gaurishankar. Last moment I had with you was in England in the summer of 1999, when a group of us (Amir and Nuru from 200B, Raju, YOU and me from 300B) took a cross-country tour of the Isles, including a visit to Tysons in the lake district.
To Chire’s family, I know it doesn’t mean much because I have seen it myself (I lost my father this year) but accept my heartfelt condolences.
