Recent Events at BNKS - Where Does SEBS-North America Stand?

First of all, we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Aditya Bhai. His departure was untimely and his presence will be missed by everyone who knew him. We would also like to let his friends know that SEBS-North America will do its best to help them in any way possible.
Recently the SEBSonline forum has been flooded with discussion on what we should do as alums of the school regarding the events leading to and following the death of Aditya. This notice will hopefully clear any confusion arising from SEBS-North America's lack of active participation in those discussions or the lack of endorsement on various petitions that some members are putting together.
While members are encouraged to pursue their activism for the betterment of BNKS in ways they think appropriate, SEBS-North America as an organization cannot endorse anything until SEBS-North America has a complete picture of the situation. Putting in another way, we cannot act on incomplete information. We have contacted several members of the SMT and senior students at BNKS to get a better, first-hand account of what really happened. One of our executive members is currently in Nepal. Furthermore, SEBS has already initiated its own inquiry into the matter. From all these channels, we expect to get a reliable account of events leading to and following Aditya Bhai's death. SEBS-North America will make its plan of possible action shortly after that.
Having assured our members that we will come up with the most effective way to address this issue and prevent mishaps in the future, we would like to remind our members of two things. First, our role in the internal matters of the school is limited. We can send suggestions for the betterment of school and raise our voices through the SEBS representative in the School Board, but we cannot change any decisions made by the school management (at least not yet).** Second, as graduates of the school, it is our obligation to practice restrain and to make sure that further damage is not caused either to the physical infrastructures of the school or its image. We request all our members to keep this in mind while doing anything related to this event.
Best regards, Yubraj Acharya Spokesperson, SEBS-North America
** : We will be glad to provide the contact address of the SEBS representative in the BNKS' Board of Directors if members want to contact him directly.
